An Amazon Fire Stick is a powerful tool. It lets you watch TV, play music, stream games and so much more. If you’re a new buyer, no need to feel overwhelmed by all the apps out there. Here are the best Amazon Fire Stick Apps that you can download today.

Don’t have a Fire Stick yet? Get yours from Amazon here!

1. Downloader

The first app you’ll want to download is Downloader. Some of the apps you’ll see — and a few on this list — are not available on the Amazon Store. Instead, on Downloader, all you need to do is enter the URL of the app you’d like to get and the platform will download it for you. This process is called “side-loading.”

2. Netflix

As one of the most popular streaming platforms in the world, Netflix is a must-have on your Fire Stick. You’ll have access to plenty of popular titles, from the new hit series “Bridgerton” to “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “Avatar: The Legend of Korra.”

While the download is free, you’ll need a subscription to watch content.

3. Kodi

Kodi is a customizable media center. Watch videos, play music and access any form of media your heart desires. It’s not available on the Amazon Store, though, so you’ll need to sideload it.

First, go to the Fire Stick’s “Settings,” then click on “Developer options.” Turn on the option to download apps from unknown sources.

Then, use the Downloader app and enter this URL to download Kodi. Select the Android option, since Fire Stick integrates well with that setup. Then choose the 32-bit installation, and you’re all set!

4. HBO Max

In May of 2020, HBO Max launched and rocked the streaming industry. The company merged HBO Go and HBO Now into one collection. You’ll find an array of exclusive titles like “Game of Thrones” and all the Studio Ghibli movies.

Download HBO Max from the search bar on your Fire Stick TV. Sign in with your subscription.

5. YouTube

For a period in time, YouTube wasn’t available on Fire Stick TVs. Luckily, things have changed. You can now download this massive streaming platform for free. It’s such a big platform, in fact, that it’s now the second biggest search engine right below parent company, Google.

6. Silk

Amazon Silk is the company’s own version of an internet browser. It’s ideal for a Fire Stick device as an Amazon product — you’ll be able to search the entire device for whatever content or information you’re looking for.

7. IMDb TV

Another partnership from Amazon is IMDb TV. If you’ve ever watched content on Amazon Prime, you’ll notice that the pause screen has some actor information. This data is thanks to IMDb. For all the inside knowledge — plus no more wondering where you know that actress from — download IMDb TV today.

8. Disney+

Disney is a massive company, and the rollout of Disney+ has a mountain of titles that you can binge all day. From the classic Disney films to the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney+ is here to stay. You’ll need a subscription to access the content.

9. Peacock TV

In the era of the streaming wars, NBC threw its hat in the ring with Peacock TV. Get access to plenty of original shows like “Parks and Recreation” and “The Office.” The best part of Peacock is the subscription options. Unlike other streaming services, Peacock TV offers a free tier.

10. Crackle

Crackle is a streaming service from Sony. It’s free, so you can watch whatever you’d like on the platform at no cost. You’ll find some popular films like “Extraction” and some more niche discoveries, too. As far as Amazon Fire Stick apps go, Crackle is one of the best.

11. Pluto TV

If you’d like to watch live television but maybe don’t have a package deal or just want more channels, download Pluto TV. Alongside live TV, you’ll get movies and shows all for free! All you need to do is search for it on your Fire Stick.

12. Twitch

In 2020, Twitch took off. It’s now one of the most popular entertainment platforms, especially for anyone who likes to stream or view games. If you don’t want to watch on your computer or mobile device, download Twitch right on your Fire Stick TV!

13. Spotify

Last, but certainly not least, Spotify is your all-in-one music streaming platform. Of course, the service has expanded to podcasts, so that’s an added bonus. Sometimes your phone or computer volume just won’t cut in. Instead, having Spotify as one of your Amazon Fire Stick apps is the solution. Play your songs, playlists and albums right from the TV, for everyone to enjoy.

Fire Stick Phenomenon

With these apps, you’ll be able to use your Fire Stick to its fullest potential. All you need to do is download!
