For women in science, scholarships can alleviate the financial burdens often associated with college and studying in the field. Here’s a list of 25 awards that can help women pursue their studies with monetary compensation.

Scholarships for Women in STEM

1. BluePay Stem Scholarship

To qualify, applicants must major in a STEM field of study — whether as an undergraduate or graduate. They must also answer an essay question.

2. Girls in STEM Scholarship

Applicants must be a woman pursuing a degree in the STEM field. This scholarship is awarded to individuals with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a dedication to their field and community.

3. Volt STEM Scholarship

Women pursuing a STEM program at an accredited college or university can earn $500 toward their degree. Students should be dedicated to their field and must answer an essay prompt to apply.

4. Virtix IT STEM Studies Scholarship

This scholarship award provides support for seniors entering their first year of college with an interest in pursuing STEM study.

5. Influenster Scholarship for Women in STEM

Five females will receive $1,000 to help them pursue a STEM degree. Applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA.

6. Palantir Women in Technology Scholarship

Freshman, sophomores and juniors can apply for this scholarship to receive funding toward tuition, fees and related academic supplies.

7. The BHW Group Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate women majoring in a STEM-related field can write an essay to compete for academic funding that will contribute to their studies.

8. Microsoft Stem Scholarship

Applicants should have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program while pursuing a STEM-related field.

Scholarships for Women in IT

1. Vanguard Women in Information Technology

Women entering their junior or senior of college with a minimum 3.0 GPA can apply to win a scholarship of up to $10,000 per academic year.

2. Michigan Council of Women in Technology

High school seniors to college juniors pursuing a degree in information technology can win an annual award of up to $5,000.

3. OpenStack Scholarship

This scholarship is crafted to provide financial help to women pursuing an IT or computer science degree. Coding samples and applicable experience/resumes are required when applying.

4. Women Techmakers Scholars Program

This academic scholarship awards women making an impact in the tech community. Applicants must actively pursue a computer science or computer engineering degree.

Scholarships for Women in Mathematics

1. Alice T. Schafer Mathematics Prize

This prize goes to undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional math skills with an interest in pursuing this field of study.

2. Association for Women in Mathematics

Women studying in the field of math can receive an award toward their educational fees.

3. Gertrude M. Cox Scholarship

If you’re a woman pursuing a degree in statistics, this scholarship can provide you with money towards your educational fees.

4. National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Scholarship

The NCTM offers annual scholarships for individuals pursuing a degree in math with a history of academic excellence.

Scholarships for Women in Engineering

1. Alpha Omega Epsilon National Foundations Scholarship

Awarded to women in engineering fields, this scholarship goes toward women who exemplify positive characteristics, dedication and academic achievement in their area.

2. SAE International Scholarships

SAE International offers scholarships that encourage women to pursue studies in engineering fields.

3. NACME Scholarship Program

The National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering strives to provide greater opportunities for those wishing to pursue an engineering or computer science degree. Applicants must apply to a NACME Partner Institution.

4. Society of Women Engineers Scholarship

Women pursuing a full-time degree in an ABET-accredited program can submit an application to receive funding toward their degree.

Scholarships for Women in Science

1. ACS Scholars Program

Women pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemistry-related fields can receive a scholarship of up to $5,000 from this organization.

2. Science Ambassador Scholarship

Create a three-minute YouTube video for a chance to win full tuition coverage in a science field of study.

3. AWIS Kirsten R. Lorentzen Award

Women majoring in physics, geophysics, geoscience or space physics can earn a merit-based scholarship of $2,000.

4. SSAI Academic Scholarship

One undergraduate member of the Society of Physics Students national organization entering their sophomore or junior year receives a $2,000 award toward their education.

5. NOAA Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program
