2025 could be another incredible year for gaming, with a flurry of long-awaited new launches and additions headed our way. This list could be massive, so it’s essential to establish some ground rules before diving into our anticipated 2025 game releases. 

First, we’re not discussing remakes or remastered titles. As enticing as the graphics or nostalgia may be, recycled content just isn’t thrilling enough to include here. We’re also not listing 2025 early-access games. Though exciting, their developments are difficult to track, so there’s no way to be certain when they’ll be fully released. 

With that out of the way, let’s explore the best games everyone’s looking forward to playing next year.

What Games Are Releasing in January 2025?

Whether you’re into first-person shooters, RPGs, adventures or multiplayer online, there’s bound to be a game coming in January that’s great for you. The top picks include: 

• Dynasty Warriors: Origins — Jan. 17 for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC
• Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist — Early access for PC in 2024, but full release on Jan. 22 for Playstation, PC, Switch and  Xbox Series X  
• Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles — Jan. 23 for PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox. The game was announced in October 2024 and features new unlockable characters, lightsaber color toggles, and cheat codes. 

• Synduality Echo of Ada — Jan. 23 for PS5, Xbox Series and PC
• Neptunia Riders Vs. Dogoos — Jan. 28 for PlayStation and Switch 
• The Stone of Madness — Jan. 28 for PS5, PC, Xbox Series and Switch

Gear up for an exciting selection of games set to launch in February. Here are our top picks: 

• Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 — Feb. 4 for PS5, Xbox Series and PC
• Moons of Darsalon — Feb. 6 for PlayStation, Xbox and Switch  
• Civilization 7 — Feb. 11 for PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox
• Assassin’s Creed Shadows — Feb. 14 for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. Initially scheduled for release in November 2024, fans can finally experience the game set in feudal Japan this 2025. 
• Date Everything! — Feb. 14 for PS5, Switch, Xbox Series and PC. This is another game with its release date delayed until next year.  
• Avowed — Feb. 18 for Xbox Series X and S, and PC 
• Lost Records: Bloom and Rage (Tape 1) — Feb. 18 for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X and S

The list of future game releases starts to dwindle here as we await confirmation from developers on scheduled official launch dates. One standout reason for the delay is the spate of layoffs by over 150 gaming companies throughout 2024. Consequently, many games in development had to be pushed back. 

Nevertheless, there are still some great titles to look forward to, come April:

What Big Game Is Coming Out in 2025?
