Artificial intelligence (AI) is a powerful field. It is part of many of the innovations that people benefit from today. For instance, home assistant hubs use AI to process your requests while Netflix uses AI to recommend shows it thinks you might like. With such powerful integrations in the present, artificial intelligence future applications will take the field even further.

1. Transportation

Vehicles are in the spotlight when it comes to AI. Specifically, automation has been changing the way that manufacturers and consumers think about driving. A delivery vehicle may be able to get to you without a driver, and, in some cars, you don’t have to touch the wheel.

AI can take these practices to the next level in the future. AI should be able to adapt to traffic patterns and adjust the speeds of cars — and even public transportation, too.

Beyond autonomous vehicles, though. AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) often work together to optimize traffic flows. IoT sensors gather and transmit data automatically, while AI can sort it and show results. More cities should adapt to this combination to cut down on wait times and keep passengers moving efficiently.

2. Shopping

Shopping has taken on a new form in recent years — e-commerce is now on par with the impact of traditional brick-and-mortar stores. In fact, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, online shopping has taken off like never before.

While many retailers already use AI for personalization, the future holds a wider adaptation. Stores can use apps and platforms and shopping assistants that have AI to suggest what consumers should buy based on their previous choices or inputs.

Another step in the right direction is scanning objects right from your phone. Some phones already have this ability — to capture an item in an image and bring you to a site to buy it. Using AI, this cool innovation is sure to change the shopping game.

3. Business

Another area of artificial intelligence future applications is within businesses. Companies must be versatile when it comes to staying ahead of the competition. AI can help with predictive analytics and data that show consumer trends and interests. Then, the business can get a headstart on pursuing those trends.

However, AI can also streamline production lines with machine learning-based robotics that automatically assemble items. Taking this idea one step further, AI can change the supply chain. With robotics and machine learning in place, workers can focus on pressing tasks like distribution while AI takes inventory and connects people throughout countries.

AI can even boost the human resources (HR) department. New systems should be able to automatically process requests and claims and notify the necessary people.

4. Healthcare

Last, but certainly not least, healthcare saw a drastic change in 2020. The pandemic upended standard practices and brought stay-at-home orders and millions of infected patients across the United States and the world. Healthcare adapted with tech like virtual visits.

Hospitals can use AI to help sort patients and keep the virus, and other illnesses, from spreading. Patients can fill out questionnaires and report any symptoms or testing results. Then, AI can locate them in different wings of a hospital or practice, keeping the coronavirus in one spot.

Automating these processes — and implementing things like AI chatbots to answer questions and free up staff — will help health practices run more smoothly. Now and after the pandemic, AI will continue to change the way the world sees healthcare.

AI Is the Future

While AI is already changing the world, these four areas of artificial intelligence future applications show what’s in store. It has the power to revolutionize each of these industries and fields. From here, AI can realize its true potential, making things easier and more efficient for everyone.
